Usage and storage
Each workspace has a storage limit that depends on its plan:
| Plan | Storage |
|---|---|
| Free | 200 MB |
| Team | 500 MB per seat (for example 1.5 GB with 3 seats) |
| Business | 1 TB, plus 500 MB per extra seat |
See Plans and pricing for details.
What counts as storage
Everything stored in your workspace counts towards its storage limit:
- Files in Drive
- Attachments in chats, comments, issues and documents
- Images, for example in documents and messages
- Document contents
- Workspace data such as issues, messages and other objects
- System files such as avatars and file previews
Storage is counted per workspace. Files in one workspace don’t use the storage of your other workspaces.
Seeing your usage
To see how much storage your workspace uses, click your avatar (profile icon) at the bottom left of the sidebar and select Usage. You’ll see the storage used compared to the limit of your plan.
The Largest files list shows the files that use the most space in the workspace, with their name, type, location, size, date modified and owner. Select files you no longer need and click Delete selected to free up space.
Note: Deleting files removes them from every place they are attached and can’t be undone. Only workspace owners and maintainers can manage storage.
When you reach your limit
At 80 %: the workspace owner receives an email warning that the workspace is running out of storage.
At 100 %: the workspace owner receives another email, and new uploads are blocked until there is free space again. Everything else keeps working: you can still open, edit and create documents, issues and messages, and you won’t lose any data.
To be able to upload again, you can:
- free up space by deleting files you no longer need from the Largest files list,
- add seats on the Team plan (each seat adds 500 MB),
- upgrade from Free to Team, or from Team to Business for 1 TB.
